Over eight hundred of Scotland’s most distinguished business minds gathered under one roof. And Glitz had the privilege of providing the soundtrack to every single moment of it.
Aberdeen’s Biggest Night in Business
The Northern Star Business Awards is the most prestigious business event in Aberdeen’s calendar. Organised by the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce and held at the magnificent P&J Live, it is the evening the entire North-East business community comes together to celebrate excellence, innovation, and the extraordinary people who drive this region forward. To be asked to perform at this event is something the entire Glitz family takes enormous pride in.
This year, more than eight hundred guests packed into P&J Live for an evening of recognition, celebration, and a serious amount of dancing. Being trusted to hold the musical heartbeat of an occasion like this is the highest compliment a live entertainment company can receive. We did not take it lightly for a single moment.
Setting the Stage: The Power of the Sting
For the awards ceremony itself, Glitz became something a little different from our usual high-energy show format. We became the house band for the evening. Disciplined, precise, and ready to react on a dime. This is a role that demands a very particular kind of musicianship, and one that our brass section absolutely thrives in.
As each award category was announced and every winner stepped into the spotlight, Glitz delivered sharp, punchy stings. Short bursts of live music, timed to land with maximum impact. Think of it as musical punctuation. Each sting had to be perfectly synchronised with the flow of the ceremony, landing right on cue to amplify the energy in the room, celebrate the winner, and keep the momentum building all the way through.
Our brass section played live throughout the entire ceremony, and it gave every sting an extra layer of power and warmth that no backing track could ever replicate. There is nothing quite like the sound of live brass filling a room at P&J Live. You feel it as much as you hear it. That physicality is exactly what a room of eight hundred people deserves, and the precision our musicians brought across every single category, without one missed beat, was something truly special.
Full Throttle: The Nine-Piece Showband Unleashed
Then the awards ended. And Glitz shifted gears completely.
If the ceremony called for discipline, the party set called for everything else. With the formalities beautifully concluded, we unleashed the full nine-piece Glitz Showband and the room came with us from the very first bar. The dance floor filled quickly. It stayed full. Eight hundred people who had spent the evening celebrating the very best of North-East business were now celebrating together, and we were right there with them, fuelling every single moment.
There is a very particular joy in watching a corporate room transform. The ties loosen. The heels come off. The laughing gets louder. Every song becomes a shared moment between everyone in that space, and that transformation is what Glitz lives for.
Vocalists in full voice. The rhythm section driving hard. Brass punching through every chorus. Guitars lighting up the room. The Northern Star Business Awards 2026 party set was everything we could have hoped for and more. It was one of those nights that reminds every one of us exactly why we do this.
